So, you’ve sat down at your computer to start creating content but inside your brain looks like a secluded desert with tumbleweeds blowing about and the music from an old country western movie playing in the background ðŸ¤

You’ve got no content ideas and inspiration is just not striking
BUT, you know you need to post content because it’s the best, free way to market your business, attract new clients and make your business goals a reality.

So what do you do?
As someone who has created marketing content for 11 years and coached many clients to do the same, I get it, I’ve been there and there are strategies that you can implement to make sure you never run out of content ideas again.

Make sure you pop this email in a favourites folder so you can come back to it again later, when no doubt, there comes a time you’re struggling with content tumbleweeds.
1. Analyse your high-performing content:
Take a look at what you’ve posted so far. What’s working well? See if there are any similar themes cropping up, and take those ideas and repurpose them.
The great thing is you’ll be taking from content that has performed well for YOU and YOUR audience, so the chances of your content resonating again is high.

Can you put a new spin or a different approach to your next piece of content?
2. Maximise Content Dissemination:
Transform a single piece of content into multiples to extend its impact. Begin with a ‘hero piece,’ something that’s longer form like a podcast, and break it down to create content that provides maximum value for your audience.
Before you write a piece of content always have in the back of your mind, how can I make this go further?
Where else can I share this?
3. Use TikTok as a Search Tool to Generate Ideas:
A lot of TikTok users are now using TikTok to search more than they’re using Google (yep, you read that right).
Just go into the search function, type some keywords that are associated with your business, and get an idea of what is performing well in order to help you decide what you want to post in your content.
It’s a really good way to be able to see what people are searching for and what they’re interested in, and you can leverage this to start creating content that has better chances of landing with your ideal audience.
4. Look to Your Peers Highest Performing Posts:
We’re going to stay on TikTok for this one.
Install the Chrome extension called ‘Sort for TikTok’. Go through your peers TikTok profiles one by one, using that Chrome filter to search from highest to lowest views.

See what’s popular right now and put your own spin on it.

Simple, easy and super effective.
5. Keep an ‘Ideas Bank’ in Your Notes App:
Simple and easy for you to implement right now. We all have busy lives as entrepreneurs, and you don’t want to rely on your brain to hold all of the information in your business.
Keep an ‘Ideas Bank’ in your Notes App on your phone, and whenever you have an idea, immediately pop it in there to refer back to later.
Your content creation method is going to be so much easier if you have a place where you can store all those ideas as they come to you.
6. Capture Content Ideas from Client Interactions:
Whether during calls or DMs, note down questions raised by clients. The problems that they are having are likely to be the same kinds of problems as your future clients.
Have a place where you can pop down any content ideas that come to you while you’re having that call (maybe in your Notes App) and use that information to generate ideas moving forward.
7. Leverage Your Peers’ Comments Section:
Explore peers’ Instagram posts, and see what kind of questions people are posting. Use those comments to help you come up with ideas for your own content.
These are people who are following similar businesses that you are and are really going to help you speak to your ideal client who will most likely have similar questions they need addressing.
8. This May Sound Obvious, But Actually Use Social Media:
Go into your reels tab on IG, and see what other people are making. Take the time to consume the kinds of content that’s being posted. See what’s working and what isn’t.
I find that a lot of the time when you’re in a content slump, it can just be because you’re not exposing yourself to different ideas and therefore, you’re not sparking any new ideas or new opinions.
So, go explore!
9. Use AI to Help You Generate Content Ideas:
Collaborate with AI to brainstorm ideas. You don’t have to use exactly the same recommendation that AI has given you (in fact I wouldn’t recommend you do so), but you can definitely use this as a thought starter to be able to come up with ideas for yourself.
For instance, you can request 50 content ideas to help get you started. But remember to always inject your unique perspective (we’re all about authenticity here!).
